SPECIAL ASSISTANCE TANDEM SKYDIVING
Special Assistance Tandem Skydiving: Making the Sky Accessible
Many people have dreamed of skydiving but assumed mobility challenges might make it impossible. At Skydive Indianapolis, we believe the sky should be accessible to more people—and with the right preparation and support, it is.
Our Special Assistance Tandem Skydiving experience is designed for individuals who may need help with walking, balance, or mobility. By removing physical barriers and focusing on safety and comfort, we help more people experience the freedom and excitement of freefall.
What Is Special Assistance Tandem Skydiving?
Special Assistance Tandem Skydiving allows a guest to skydive with a highly trained tandem instructor while receiving additional support on the ground and during aircraft boarding and landing. The skydiving experience itself—freefall, parachute deployment, and canopy flight—is the same thrilling experience enjoyed by all tandem guests.
The difference is in the preparation.
This program is intended for individuals who:
Are unable to walk independently
Use mobility aids
Have balance limitations
Have experienced an injury, medical condition, or age-related mobility changes
Every participant is evaluated individually to ensure the experience is safe, appropriate, and enjoyable.
Experienced Instructors and Specialized Equipment
Gearing up the tandem pants.
Special Assistance Tandem Skydives are conducted by experienced tandem instructors who receive additional training for this type of jump. Your instructor will guide you through the entire experience, from arrival at the drop zone to landing.
The excitement builds on the climb to altitude!
Participants are fitted with specialized tandem pants, similar to bib overalls, which help maintain proper leg positioning during aircraft exit and landing. The equipment is designed to be:
Comfortable and secure
Quick to put on and remove (typically under five minutes)
Easy to adjust with simple zipper closures
Ground Support From Start to Finish
Our trained ground crew is available to assist as needed. This may include:
Helping with boarding the aircraft
Providing support during transitions
Assisting safely back to the hangar after landing
Support is provided respectfully and only as needed, with clear communication at every step.
Ready, set, GO!!!
Who Can Participate?
Many people who qualify for Special Assistance Tandem Skydiving have:
Spinal conditions or previous surgeries

Age-related mobility limitations
If you are unsure whether this experience is right for you, we encourage you to reach out. Each guest’s situation is unique, and we are happy to discuss options.
